Making a Quick Parabolic Prediction
If you need a quick opinion, click the Parabolic Prediction icon
.
You will be presented with the following template.

Defaults have been selected for you, but you may easily change them. In this case, all that you need to enter is the price series you wish to predict. Note that the dataset you enter must consist of 1, 3 or 4 columns. If you had a 5-column dataset, you would have to reduce it such that it contained 1, 3 or 4 columns. That’s easily done by requesting:
djia columns 1 2 3 4
Then click
.
You will be presented with a full screen chart showing the data series to be forecasted at the top and an oscillator based on it at the bottom:

You then select a time period for forecasting the oscillator, and the Parabolic Predictor will forecast the price. To do that you click your mouse on the oscillator and drag it across the screen to select the time period desired, and click again.

Then click on either
or
. You would “Clear all Lines” if you wanted to choose a different time period. When you “Produce Parabolas”, you get the prediction:

The underlying principle is that “If the oscillator continues as it is forecast, then the price must follow its forecast”.
